On October 8th 2016, about 11 PM Seth Schneider has tweeted a picture of him giving a High-Five to himself while his phone is on the air capturing it. It has reached 177k Re-tweets and 446k likes so far.
Who thought this tweet will be re-tweeted more than 100000 times? Not me.
Soon people started reacting to it and replicating the 'High-five selfie'.
Have fun :)
A twitter account was created to post high five selfies from different people around the world. Unfortunately, It did't go as viral as I thought. Sure, there are more more than 5000 high five selfie images on the internet. But, it did not go as viral as ALS Ice bucket Challenge or Pineapple Apple Pen video.
I was not able to get a lot of numbers. But, I managed to pull some. Have a look.
These are the statistics are from 21/10/2016 17:53 - 30/10/2016 12:07. But, this was started in 8th if October this months. So, obviously the stats are down. But, I'm very interested in seeing the impressions and engagement activities on the original tweet. I've contacted the Twitter user, Seth to get the analytics of the tweet. If I do get it I'll update.
Here are few reasons why it didn't go so viral.
There are people who says that his phone was attached to his wrist with a wrist band. I'm thinking, if it was attached to his wrist band he might have been able to get a pick with a good quality.
